Festivals

Here are the National Public Holidays of Menorca that are commemorated annually in Mahón. During these days, public and private offices are closed. And in the feast of Saints, several parades and activities are done, and become added tourist attractions for the island. The local fiesta of Mahón is celebrated with much flamboyance, every 7th, 8th, and 9th of September.
    National Public Holidays

  • New Year's Day -- 1st of January
  • Epiphany Day -- 5th of January
  • St. Joseph’s Day -- 9th of March
  • Maundy Thursday -- Late March or early April
  • Good Friday -- Late March or early April
  • Labor Day -- 1st of May
  • Feast of Assumption -- 15th of August
  • National Day of Spain -- 12th of October
  • All Saints' Day -- 1st of November
  • Constitution Day -- 6th of December

Remember that during the festivals, the usual hotels and hostels of Menorca may be fully booked – everyone wants to be in the same place! If this is the case, look further afield. There are many casas prefabricadas de madera which are available to stay in throughout the year and what is more, they are much homelier than the hotels!
