There are many a choice of itineraries if you are wishing to get on a Menorca pleasure trip. These tours can be arranged by local travel agencies and the routes can vary depending on the time that you can spare for the tour. Nonetheless, if you are together with a big crowd (like friends and family), and you are opting for a little adventure, then renting a car can be best. Just do not forget to have at hand a good Menorca map of course. Tagging along a local inhabitant of Menorca is not such a bad option as well. In this case, you will not only enjoy seeing the beautiful historical sights of the island, you will also get the inside stories of each tourist spot!
Here are just some of the routes to take:

· For a view that is one of its kind, stride the steep crest to the southern area of the harbor and enjoy the picturesque mix of British colonial and old Spanish structural design, together with the aged city walls and churches.
· Make a stopover at the renowned Xoriguer gin distillery. Free samples of gin are the main attraction, so do not miss the opportunity!
· The aquarium that is to be found in the port of Mahon is also worth your attention.

This itinerary is good for a half day excursion:
· Bring yourself and your company of friends to Alaior, a mature market town 12 kilometers from Mahon. This town is an interesting place to check out since it has long been the hub for the island’s dairy industry. The town of Alajor is also home to two major cheese companies: La Payesa (open Mon - Fri 9am - 1pm and 4pm - 7pm) and Coinga (Mon - Fri 9am - 1pm and 5pm - 8pm).
· Stopover the cheese factory outlets and find out about the procedure of cheese-making. The cheese in Mahon is so famous for its taste and quality. Queso Mahon is a richly textured white cheese made with pasteurized cow’s and ewe’s milk. Take advantage of being in the factory premises and acquire free samples of the best tasting cheese!
· Travel around the web of streets and whitewashed abodes in the medieval town center, and then go on a 1 kilometer trek to the magnificent parish church of Santa Eulalia.

This itinerary is good for a whole day excursion:
· Charter a boat from Mahon harbor and enjoy the sight of the island’s numerous sandy coves which are visible as you reach the midst of the crystal clear sea.
· Afterwards, head to Fornells on the north side of the island and meander around its beautiful streets. Get to taste the well renowned Lobster Stew (Caldereta de Langosta) of the town as well!
· As an alternative, head all the way around to the town of Ciutadella on the west coast. Along the way, you can take pleasure in the turquoise colored waters with a swim or snorkel in your own little paradise. The well-liked Los Delfines Aqua Park, in close proximity to Ciutadella, is worth a visit for the more vigorous junior members of the group.
· If you have not had enough of Menorca yet, catch a trip and travel around Menorca’s three small islets: Illa del Rei where King Alfonso III landed in 1287 when Menorca was still a Muslim colony; tiny Illa Plana and Illa del Llatzeret, both of which were used as quarantine stations. For sure, these island explorations will delight you!
